Hyderabad, April 17: The chief minister reportedly told his Cabinet colleagues that the Congress party has come ‘very close’ to win the elections.
Besides instructing the incharge ministers who were appointed for each of the seven constituencies in Kadapa Lok Sabha segment to stay till completion of elections, he wanted all the women ministers to campaign in Pulivendula Assembly segment on behalf of party candidate YS Vivekananda Reddy, who is contesting against late YSR’s wife Vijayalakshmi.
He urged his colleagues not to criticise late Rajasekhara Reddy, but to assert that all programmes and schemes launched by the late leader would be continued. Explaining the reasons for accepting the resignation of YS Vivekananda Reddy, the chief minister said: “I accepted the resignation only after Vivekananda Reddy said that he would file his nomination papers only if his resignation is accepted.”
