AP IT secretary faces court rap for threat SMSes

Hyderabad, January 29: A munsif magistrate’s court in Kanigiri in Prakasam district has directed the police to register a case against information technology principal secretary K Ratna Prabha following a complaint by a woman that the IAS officer had been threatening her.

According to sources, the woman, Vatsala, complained that Ratna Prabha had been sending her threatening SMSes.

The police are yet to receive the court’s direction. “As soon as we receive the court order, we will comply with it,” Kanigiri inspector K Prakasha Rao said. Ratna Prabha denied sending any SMSes to Vatsala whom she described as a blackmailer.

The IT secretary said Vatsala was incenced that she had asked Prakasam collector Kantilal Dande to investigate complaints that Vatsala had bought lands assigned to Dalits. Vatsala wanted her to withdraw her direction to the collector, but when that was not done, she began nursing a grudge against her.
