AP High Court expresses its concern on suicide tendency in university students

AP High Court has shown its grave concern on the increasing tendency of the students of the Universities in Hyderabad city for committing suicides.

Acting on a news item published in a local daily, the court ordered to conduct an enquiry under public interest. Acting Chief Justice of A.P. High Court, Justice N.V. Ramana and Justice Vilas, V. Afzalpurkar took notice of the suicide incidents and issued notices to Chief Secretary. Home Secretary, Higher Education Secretary, Registrars of Universities, Chairman of University Grants Commission and others. The hearing of it has been posted on 25th March.

It may be noted that recently Mr. Mudassir Kamran (EFLU) and Mr. P. Raju (University of Hyderabad) had committed suicides.
