AP: Guntur placed in Top in Happiness index

Guntur: Guntur District emerges top in Happiness index in Andhra Pradesh. During the occasion of hoisting flag on republic day, the Guntur District collector Mr. K. Sasidhar said that the government conducted survey about people’s satisfaction on implementation of government schemes. Guntur district people expressed their satisfaction and happiness.

The district collector also said that people’s capital Amaravati has now entered into construction phase from planning phase and it will further lead to the development of Guntur.

According to the news reported in Deccan Chronicle, he also added that AP Assembly and council will be sprawled in 8 lakh square feet, the secretariat would cover 5 lakh square feet and the High Court complex would cover 8 lakh square feet.

In December 2017, the Guntur district has been declared open defecation free district. The collector further added that 7,87,110 families were issued Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme job cards which provided 98 lakh days of work for these families.

The district administration also said that it is planning to develop tourism in the district with the help of historical and ancient places.
