Hyderabad, February 22: The Andhra Pradesh government would abide by the decision of the Centre on the Telangana issue, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy said in the state Legislative Council today.
Replying to the debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address, he said the Centre would soon call a meeting of political parties from the state to discuss the Srikrishna committee report.
Noting that the Telangana issue was in the final stage of consideration by the Centre, Reddy said the political parties and other groups should be patient, till a decision was taken.
Responding to a suggestion from a CPI MLC, the chief minister said he would urge the Centre to convene the meeting of parties from the state at the earliest.
Describing the pro-Telangana students as “our own children”, Reddy said they should concentrate on their studies.
