AP Govt to promote Cluster Schools in rural areas

Andhra Pradesh Government will focus on funding and promotion of the Cluster school program all over the state as a solution to the problems of rural schools.

During the pre-budget review on education department today at the Secretariat, the Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu asked the School Education officials to submit proposals to realize the goal of the Chief Minister to reduce school drop outs in rural schools and also increase literacy levels in villages.

He urged the Education department officials to ensure that the objectives of the policy of Right to Education are achieved by enrolling the children from all ages and sections of society in urban and rural schools.

The Finance Minister also reviewed on implementation of the Sakshara Bharati program in all gram panchayats by involving the teachers at the village level to take up adult literacy programs.

He said that the demands of the education department budget should incorporate all the Mission targets, the announcements and promises made by the Chief Minister to achieve the goals of fully literate society. , Provide free and compulsory quality education to all children at elementary level as envisaged under the RTE Act

Senior officials of the Finance, School education, College Education, Adult Education, etc., participated in the pre-budget review meeting. (INN)
