Andhra Pradesh government has decided to hire noted advocates in Supreme Court to retain 4 pc Muslim reservations in Andhra Pradesh. In this connection Director Minority Welfare Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal will leave for New Delhi on Thursday after the approval of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
It is said that hearing of the case is on February 29. Issue of 4.5 pc reservations provided by former UPA government at the centre and reservations in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka have also been included in the case.
It must be noted that Telangana government had not filed the petition to become a party to the case up till now. However government of Telangana filed a petition in Supreme Court yesterday itself seeking permission to become party to the case.
