Hyderabad, March 08: Alleging that the Andhra Pradesh government has reduced security provided to former Congress MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, one of his confidantes on Tuesday asked the government to provide fool-proof security to him.
“The supporters of Jagan have concerns about security being scaled down to him and the government should provide adequate security to him,” Ambati Rambabu, a former Congress MLA, told reporters.
Jagan is currently on a two-day tour to Srikakulam district to console the family members of those who were killed in police firing during protests by villagers against establishment of a thermal power plant in the area.
Jagan also held a protest in the area against the power plant being set up there against the wishes of the people.
Expressing fears that the power plant would adversely affect the ecology and agriculture, the villagers in the Srikakulam district have been fighting against the plant.
