AP Govt asks SCR to increase trains

Following directions of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao on Monday spoke to South Central Railways General Manager PK Srivastava requesting him to increase the number of trains from Hyderabad to different destinations vice versa in the state A.P.

The SCR GM has promised to run special trains as requested by the AP Government. The Chief Secretary also conducted a meeting on Sankarathi Sambaralu celebrations during the festival season.

Culture Secretary Shashank Goel has been asked to camp at Tirupathi and organize the State Level Sankranthi Sambaraku including Food Festival depicting history of the regions of Andhra Pradesh, other Rangavalli programmes and Cultural programmes at Tirupathi on a large scale. It has been decided to release Rs 13 crores exclusively for the State level function.

Similarly, it has been decided to release Rs. 1.00 crore to each district administration today for organizing Sankatathi Sambaralu in the respective district headquarter and Rs 2 Lakhs for Sankrathi celebration in the A.P. Secretariat.

A meeting was conducted with all the Hoteliers, on January 10 and all of them have agreed to participate in the State level food festival and Sankranthi Celebrations all through the State including Tirupathi, where a State level function is organized. (INN)
