Andhra Pradesh government has announced to give Rs 3 lakh ex-gratia to the children of two pilgrims of Machlipatnam, Krishna district who died in crane crash accident in Makkah Mukarrama. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu took this decision after consulting with the officials on the Makkah tragedy. He had sought report from Minority Welfare Minister P Raghunath Reddy and Secretary Minority Welfare Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal in this connection and expressed great sorrow over the death of two pilgrims of Andhra Pradesh in the tragedy.
He sanctioned Rs. 3 lakh per head for their children from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. It is said that the amount will be fixed deposited in the names of the children of deceased so that the amount could be used for their education and other needs.
It must be noted that two pilgrims of Andhra Pradesh died in the Makkah catastrophe while 3 pilgrims of Telangana were injured.
