AP Governor is against separate Telangana demand

Hyderabad, February 17: Alleging that Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan is against the demand for a separate Telangana, TRS on Wednesday night said it will protest and walk out during his speech at the State Assembly Thursday.

“The Governor is anti-Telangana. He insulted Telangana and the movement several times. We will protest, disrupt and walk out when he addresses the Assembly tomorrow,” senior TRS MLA T Harish Rao told reporters late tonight after a meeting of the TRS legislature party.

Claiming that Telangana has been “cheated” ever since Andhra Pradesh was formed 56 years ago, he said the region is not going to benefit in any way during the Budget session of Andhra Pradesh Assembly that starts here tomorrow.

Observing that Telangana government employees and others are starting a non-cooperation agitation from tomorrow on the statehood issue, Rao said the MLAs of ruling Congress, main Opposition TDP and even Ministers should refuse to cooperate in running the Assembly.
