Hyderabad, May 1 (INN): State fish is popular in Assam and is in lot of demand the north
eastern state.
The import of fish from Andhra is more as it is tasty and of good quality, said Assam
State Cooperative Minister, Siddique Ahmed. He went round the tanks and fish markets
in city. Ahmed is also the Chairman of Fishermen Association.
“Fish of Andhra Pradesh is very popular in Assam. Middlemen are also plenty and are
cutting into the fishermen income,” he said. “Our government has decided to buy fish
from Andhra Pradesh directly and my purpose of visit to ensure that,” he said. (INN)
