Rajahmundry, May 11: Andhra Pradesh Stamps and Registration Minister T Narasimham today said that the state government has earned Rs 3800 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2011 from selling stamps and through registration fees.He said that the target of Rs 3558 crore fixed by the state has been exceeded.
The minister today paid a surprise visit to the District Registration Office and Sub-registration office here and said all rented registration offices and sub-registration offices will be shifted in permanent buildings for smooth functioning.He informed that a pilot project of digitalisation of records for safe and secure storage would soon be started in East Godavari district.
Out of 432 sub-registration offices only 280 have permanent buildings, he said adding that “we are preparing a plan to build the permanent buildings zonal-wise. The amount was allocated for this purpose also. Besides this we are also planning ‘online’ registration of lands from any part of the state.” On experimental basis, the government is starting this process of online registration in eight offices in steel city of Visakhapatnam, Narsimham said.
