The Pithapuram police today claimed to have cracked a robbery case with the arrest of five youths including two students of Surampalem Engineering College.
Circle Inspector G Rambabu said that of the five accused, Chandaka Emanuel (25) was an engineering graduate and also the mastermind of the plan.
The other accused were Damara Venkata Kartik (26) and Kadali Sai Kiran (25), students of third-year engineering,
Gaddam Suryanarayana , a final year BCom student and Chatla Anil Kumar, a driver.
On August 10, Yarrapragada Ramadevi, a lady teacher, was returning in her Maruti-800 car, driven by Anil Kumar, when the latter stopped the car, and other four accused got into the vehicle and robbed her of jewelery worth Rs 2 lakh.
