AP to distribute two addl LED bulbs to SC, ST failies

The AP government is now creating a record by distribution of two additional LED bulbs to SC/ST families at subsidized price of Rs 10 per bulb, as against the present market price of Rs 200 to Rs 300 per bulb.

As directed by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the power utilities have commenced distribution of additional two LED bulbs to the SC and ST  BPL  domestic consumers and around 24 lakh LED bulbs will be distributed across the State under the special scheme for SCs and ST families.

The Chief Minister held a teleconference on review of the scheme and K. Vijayanand, CMD/ APTransco & MD/APGenco, reiterated that elimination of poverty & uplift of SC&ST communities is the utmost priority of the Govt.  Various schemes like laying of roads, energizing colonies and irrigation pump sets, construction of welfare hostels and so on are under effective implementation in the State under AP Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP) and Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) Act 2013.

During a review meeting with  K. Rangnatham, Advisor, Energy Dept,  Dinesh Paruchuri, JMD/(Finance, Comml., IPC, HRD & IT),  H.Y.Dora, CMD/ APSPDCL, M.M.Nayak, CMD/ APEPDCL, the Principal Secretary, Energy, stressed the need for quick implementation of the scheme and directed the utilities to take all measures to make AP as incandescent free State.
