AP is developing fast: CM

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh has emerged number one state in development at national level, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has claimed. Addressing a debate on capital city construction in the budget session on Wednesday, Leader of the House stated that other states are vying with the AP to achieve development. While the Andhra Pradesh has achieved 10.99 per cent growth, its neighbouring state of Telangana achieved only 9.24 per cent growth he claimed. Naidu also announced that he is ready to offer Polavaram project to the NDA Government if the Centre can complete it on time. Rubbishing as false allegations by the opposition party on his foreign tours, he said that he is trying to woo investors for setting up their shop in the state for rapid growth. The government is committed to construct capital city taking help from the Centre, he said adding that a whopping Rs 35000 cr needed to get 34000 acres land. We convinced the people for the capital city and promised to help them in turn, he said. The people are unready to believe in the YCP’s allegations on the capital city he said. Though we have number of ideas the government is fund crunch which can be attributed to the irrational process of bifurcation of the state Chandrababu stated. Nonetheless, the TD Government will exert pressure on the Centre to get railway zone for Visakhapatnam, polavarm project, outer ring road, special status, package and other promises. As part of development plan the government will take up construction of the roads on public private partnership, he added. Pattiseema was completed in record time, and steps will be taken to connect Krishna with Penna and Vamshadhara and Nagavali rivers as Krishna and Godavari were connected. He also warned that the government will take stern action against the YCP for spiking the development of the capital city. (NSS)
