Action Plan for the construction of flyover near Kanaka Durga Temple at Vijayawada was discussed on Tuesday with the officers concerned by Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao.
Through Video Conference, Krishna District in-charge Collector Chandrudu informed that a total extent of 20361 Sq. Metres of land is required for the flyover. Land for the flyover is acquired and 166 land holders, 169 structures are identified in this zone. He also informed that all the land holders are willing to vacate the land and ready to get the compensation.
The Chief Secretary directed the District Collector to go ahead with the works viz., land acquisition, shifting of utilities etc., and Government will release funds soon and also said that the traffic near the temple should be diverted by strengthening the road network during the construction of flyover. Krishna District Collector to co-ordinate with the Municipal Corporation, APTRANCO, Transport and other Departments to complete with flyover project within the stipulated period as the Government of Andhra Pradesh took a decision to complete the flyover before Krishna Pushkarams commencing in the year 2016.
Spl. Chief Secretary Transport B. Sam Bob, Prl. Finance Secretary Dr. P.V. Ramesh, Secretary Finance M. Ravichandra, Secretary Energy Ajay Jain, CMD APTRANCO Vijayanand and others attended the meeting. (INN)
