Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao on Monday directed the Agriculture Department to take action for making sufficient availability of Red-gram Dal, other essential commodities and to check rise of prices in the market.
The Chief Secretary issued these directions while chairing the meeting of State Level Price Monitoring Committee held at the State Secretariat here on Monday.
Civil Supplies Commissioner B Raja Sekhar has briefed through Power Point Presentation about the existing price situation of all the commodities, vegetables, pulses, edible oils and required commodities for daily use are reviewed, in the meeting.
The Chief Secretary opined that there was a possibility of increase in the prices and shortage of all the commodities in the coming months. Officials of the concerned Departments need to watch it very closely to check the price hike and to control the shortage of essential commodities. He said corrective steps should be taken, including the intervention required from government side, to control the prices, he said.
