Communist Party of India Andhra Pradesh Council here on Monday demanded that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu tender resignation owning moral responsibility on the cash-for-vote episode occurred in Telangana State.
In a pressnote here on Monday, CPI AP Council secretary K Ramakrishna stated it was atrocious on the part of Chandrababu Naidu for not initiating action against Revanth Reddy, who was caught red handedly at nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson’s house with money bag. He stated that CPI was wondering why Chandrababu, who frequently chants he would transform Andhra Pradesh State as corruption-free State, kept mum.
The CPI leader alleged that both Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu encouraged party defections resulting in political bankruptcy. Condemning both Chief Ministers’ attitude in encouraging political defections, Ramakrishna advised the defectors to tender resignations to their positions and face elections to protect the ethical values in politics. He also urged the democracy lovers to come forward to protect the falling values in politics. The Party was also demanding that the government order CBI probe into the cash-for-vote episode, Ramakrishna said. (NSS)
