AP: All Court Buildings to Have Energy Efficient Apps

Andhra Pradesh is all set to have another feather in its cap regarding energy efficiency and conservation as the court buildings in the state will be retrofitted with energy efficient appliances without any upfront investment as the cost initially would be borne by M/S Energy Efficiency Services Limited(EESL) of Government of India, which is first time of its kind in the country. The project results in estimated annual monetary savings of Rs. 2.27 crores and energy savings of 2.5 million units in all the courts in 13 districts of AP. The state is about to make another leap in its Energy efficiency front as High court of Judicature at Hyderabad entered into an agreement with EESL at the office of Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission today.


In the presence of APERC Chairman Justice G. Bhavani Prasad, on behalf of High court  the  Registrar General of HC, Ch. Manavendranath Roy and Registrar (administration), Dr.P.Nagarjun signed on the agreement. From the side of EESL, its MD SaurabhKumar signed on the agreement.


Justice  Bhavani Prasad during an interaction with officials on the occasion said, “ Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is passionate about energy efficiency and conservation. APERC always played a pro-active role in all the welfare schemes for the electricity consumers”.


Saurabh Kumar responded that Andhra Pradesh is extending the energy efficiency measures to rural areas as the state is all set to replace the street lights in villages with LED street lights.


The project of retrofitting energy efficient appliances would be first implemented in all the court buildings of Visakhapatnam on Pilot Project basis free of cost by EESL. (NSS)
