Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today sanctioned houses to all eligible physically challenged people in the state under the ‘Indiramma’ poor people housing scheme. The chief minister participated in the ‘World Disabled Day’ celebrations at Ibrahimpatnam this evening on the first day of his ongoing ‘Indiramma Bata’ (on the path shown by late prime minister Indira Gandhi) mass-contact programme in Ranga Reddy district, neighbouring Hyderabad. Kiran Kumar Reddy said that Rs 600 crores have been allocated for physically challenged self help groups (SHGs), besides Rs 400 crores worth facilities under the ‘Rajiv Vidya Mission’ (Sarva Siksha Abhiyan). The chief minister assured that pensions for ‘below 40 per cent physically challenged’ are also under consideration. Reddy also distributed tricycles and special apparatus to physically challenged people at Rampally junction, Dommaiguda and Rangareddy district on the occasion of World Disabled Day. On the tenth leg of ‘Indiramma Baata’, he reached Kandlakoya village in Ranga Reddy district by road, interacted with farmers, as well as inaugurated the Krishna-Manjira water supply project at Dommaiguda and addressed a public meeting at Keesara.
