AP CM reviews strike situation in T-region

Hyderabad, October 03: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today reviewed the latest situation arising out of the general strike in Telangana, which entered 21st day today with Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimah, R&B Minister Dharamana Prasada Rao, Chief Secretary Sri Pankaj Dwivedi and other top officials, at Secretariat here today. An official release here said, Mr Reddy at a review meeting asked the transport department to see that more contract and private buses ply on the roads immediately. He said at least 1000 contract buses should ply on the roads to help the common people, particularly in view of the ensuing festive season. The officials informed him that APSRTC is plying 500 buses already in the city. This is in addition to the 650 contract and private buses being operated between Hyderabad and other important cities like Bangalore, Nagpur, Pune, Chennai, Mumbai, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.
