In a chat with Stanford University Alumni, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that Vizag now has a start-up village that encourages start-ups.
Explaining that entrepreneurs can boost the economy, he said that they are capable of creating several jobs. “I had an idea on introducing Hyderabad to the software sector and have successfully done it. Today, over 3.5 lakh people are working in Hyderabad’s software industry,” the Chief Minister said.
He added that micro, small and medium enterprises are important for the growth of a state. “We are working with Japan to encourage MSMEs,” he added.
The Chief Minister also explained about Andhra Pradesh having the country’s first Innovation and Start-up policy where focus would be to encourage start-ups. “This will create a culture of innovation in the state,” he added.
He also shared his plans on having incubation centres in every university or educational institution in the state. He added that the state also plans to create an innovation fund of Rs100 crore to encourage entrepreneurs. (INN)
