With an aim to transform Andhra Pradesh into a tourism hub, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will launch the ‘Tourism Mission Document’ on September 14 here.
According to an official release, to boost development in tourism sector, the tourism mission document and new policy has been formulated, in partnership and consultation with tourism stakeholders and experts that include travel agents, tour operators, hoteliers, resort owners, architects, consultants and other private investors.
The Tourism Mission is a sub-mission of the Service Sector Mission among the 7 Missions on which the government functions.
This document highlights emerging tourism trends, challenges, growth projections, tourism contribution to economy, mission objectives, strategy intervention and roadmap to achieve the tourism objectives, it said.
It has identified important tourism themes based on their inherent strengths of the state.
In addition all the other key developmental areas identified includes marketing and brand building, strengthening governance and institutional framework and capacity building for generating adequately skilled manpower in the tourism sector of Andhra Pradesh, the release said.
To implement the mission roadmap and monitor its progress, leadership teams – Mission Governing Body (MGB) and Mission Support Unit (MSU) are structured under the leadership of the Chief Minister and the Principal Secretary Tourism respectively to provide the overall guidance to the Tourism Sub-Mission, it added.
