AP CM hits out at Jagan

Kadapa, May 04: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday charged that former MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy quit the Congress only to become Chief Minister.

Jagan resigned from the Congress only due to his selfish political motives, the Chief Minister alleged during his campaign for Kadapa Lok Sabha seat bypoll scheduled to be held on May 8.

Jagan’s father, late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, was always loyal to the Congress High Command and worked to strengthen the party, Kiran Reddy said.

“Jagan should remember that late Rajasekhara Reddy worked as MP four times. Jagan’s uncle Vivekananda Reddy functioned as MP twice. A Sai Pratap was inducted into the Union Cabinet now after being an MP for six times.”

Congress made Rajasekhara Reddy state Congress President at a young age, twice as Opposition leader and Chief Minister, Kiran Reddy pointed out.

Jagan’s statements about survival of the Congress Government in the state reflected his political immaturity, the Chief Minister maintained.

It was only the Congress Government that can effectively implement the welfare schemes launched by Rajasekhara Reddy, he stated.

Speaking at another meeting, the CM recalled that Rajasekhara Reddy had expressed his gratitude to the Congress High Command for giving him opportunities.

He appealed to the voters of Pulivendula Assembly segment to elect Congress candidate YS Vivekananda Reddy, brother of Rajasekhara Reddy. Jagan’s mother Vijayalakshmi is the rival of Vivekananda Reddy in Pulivendula.
