Minister for Power G Jagadish Reddy today slammed the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for creating hurdles to Telangana in purchase of power.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, Jagadish Reddy said the Naidu government has violated AP Re-organisation Act norms by stalling 58.39 per cent of the share from Krishnapatnam and Hinduja power plants by cancelling PPAs. “However, our officials and staff from State level to village have succeeded in their efforts to achieve power targets. We have purchased 2000 MW power in open tenders and kept the promise of giving power to agriculture, domestic and industry”, he claimed.
Jagadish Reddy accused Chandrababu of conspiring against the Telangana State and prevented private companies from selling power. He threw an open challenge to discuss on the same and alleged that the TDP leaders in Telangana and others are trying to malign the image of the TRS government on power projects. The TS government gave Bhadrachalam power plant to noted BHEL in a transparent manner though the TD leaders are making false allegations of corruption. “The Naidu Government deceived us for second time after promising to sell power. Naidu made deliberate attempts to hoodwink Telangana people by coming in the way of its power projects”, he fumed. (NSS)
