AP CM asks Telangana employees to call off agitation

Hyderabad, March 05: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy friday renewed his appeal to the Telangana employees to immediately call off their non-cooperation agitation as people were suffering badly.

“More than 50 lakh families in Telangana could not get their monthly ration from fair price shops, while 11 lakh persons could not receive social security pensions. Another 2.4 lakh retired employees, too, could not get their monthly pension because of the ongoing agitation,” he told reporters.

It was the welfare of poor people that was getting adversely affected because the administration has been left paralysed due to the agitation, the CM maintained.

He said 9.43 lakh students appearing for intermediate examinations in Telangana, 6.24 lakh for Class X exams, 4.84 lakh for graduation and another 6 lakh students appearing for various competitive examinations, including AIEEE and IIT-JEE, were also likely to be affected by the ongoing agitations.
