Hyderabad, April 27: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today directed the officials of various departments connected with the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) to complete the 251 projects worth Rs 11,877 crore by March 2012.
Completion of these projects was necessary to get the second phase of JNNURM funds from the Centre, an official release quoted the CM as saying here.Reddy also directed the Finance Department to release required funds to complete these projects.The Union Government-sponsored JNNURM aims at encouraging fast-track planned development of urban India.
Reddy asked the officials concerned to sort out the JNNURM issues relating to Defence, Railways and National Highways Authority of India by arranging a separate meeting immediately.
The officials informed the Chief Minister that 70 out of 251 JNNURM projects have been completed, the release said.
Andhra Pradesh has been sanctioned the second largest JNNURM projects, at 251, in the country, it added.
