Hyderabad, August 03: Strongly refuting Leader of Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu’s claim that Hyderabad had witnessed all-round development during his regime, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today asked him to change his ”mindset” by shedding ”negativism” for ”political survival”.
Intervening during Question Hour, the Chief Minister opined that Mr Naidu was not at all appreciative of good work done by others. He always indulged in ”self-boasting” and with the help of the media had created a hype in other states that had developed Hyderabad, Dr Reddy claimed.
”You (Mr Naidu) stand thoroughly exposed in Andhra Pradesh now, with the people of this city not giving more than one MLA seat to your party in the 2004 Assembly elections and even in the 2009 polls. You will not be allowed to even sit in the opposition by the people if you don’t change your mindset,” he counselled.
He said the TDP, which had weaned away three of the Congress allies before the 2009 simultaneous elections to the Lok Sabha and the State, had touched them with its ”Bhasmasura hastham”, leading to the reduced strength of its new-found allies — the TRS, CPI and CPI(M), in the state Assembly.
Only Congress had developed infrastructure in the state capital in the last five years, including the new International airport, and not Mr Naidu, who had in fact put to hardship the poor people by forcibly acquiring land for it at a far off place.
