AP Babus in CBI net : Jagan case

Hyderabad,August 31:The CBI is probing the role of certain bureaucrats in extending benefits to companies that had invested in the business empire of YSR Congress party president Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy. It could even lead to the arrest of Jagan in a week or two, a CBI source claimed.

On Tuesday, CBI joint director V. V. Lakshminarayana met Andhra Pradesh chief secretary S. V. Prasad and reportedly discussed the possibility of interrogating those IAS officers who played a key role in doling out benefits to the companies that invested in Jagan’s firms.

Emerging from the meeting, Lakshminarayana said he had sought files pertaining to eight government departments, including industries, mining and revenue, to aid the probe.

Lakshminarayana sought permission from Prasad to examine the laptops of some senior bureaucrats for an assessment of decisions on land allotments to certain companies.

The CBI reportedly has almost established a link between the favours doled out during YSR’s tenure and the quid quo pro investments into Jagan’s business ventures.

“ Once all the evidences are collected, there is a possibility of arresting Jagan in a week or two,” a CBI source said.

Keeping the heat on Jagan, the Enforcement Directorate filed another case.
