AP alloted Rs 770 cr for training professional graduates

State Technical Education Commissioner Mr.Ajay Jain today said the Andhra Pradesh Government has allotted Rs 770 crores for training to upgrade the skills of professional graduates and diploma holders as per the requirement of industry. Speaking at a seminar held on ‘ Apprenticeship Traming Scheme’ organised by Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOATS Southern Region)) and TeamLease Services Private Limited here, Mr.Jain said only 20 – 25 percent professional graduates are getting jobs in the industry and most of the professionals are not getting suitqable jobs due to lack of skill development. He requested the authorities to take steps to create awareness in colleges and to the fresh graduates on skill development. BOATS Chairman Manish Sabarwal said that India has one of the weakest apprenticeship regimes in the world with only four lakh apprentices while Germany has six million and Japan has 10 million. In the next two years, the Board would train two lakh candidates from the current 28,000, he added. UNI
