AP aims to emerge as manufacturing and exports hub

With an aim to bring a global investor outlook to Andhra Pradesh to make it best business destination by 2050, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that he aims to transform Andhra Pradesh into a manufacturing and exports hub.

The Chief Minister held a meeting at his office in Vijayawada to review the preparatory arrangements for the CII Partnership Summit from January 10, 11 and 12. He suggested officials to hold an elaborate discussion on means to increase India’s exports on par with China. In this regard, he stressed on the need to strengthen the coastal region for giving thrust to the manufacturing sector in the state. The three-day convention must be aimed at bringing in a slew of investments for the state, he added.

The officials informed the Chief Minister that they are inviting 976 delegates to the convention. 224 delegates from 37 countries are arriving to attend the Partnership Summit, they said.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to invite business tycoons, heads of IT and manufacturing companies and prominent people in the industry sector. He suggested the officials to prepare an innovative and professional invitation for the delegates. For this, he said, to train local students and use their talent.

Reviewing the hospitality arrangements, he suggested decorating the venue with Kadiyam flowers and northern Andhra Pradesh art forms. He directed the officials to provide space for setting up of DWCRA stalls.

On the last day of the seminar, the Chief Minister suggested arranging gifts to the participant reflecting the brand image of Andhra Pradesh. Along with GCC products, sweets such as Atreyapuram Putarekulu, Kakinada Kazaa etc, the delegates must also receive Tirumala Balaji’s memento and Prasadam, he added.

The three-day CII Summit will also hold discussion on drafting Indian global manufacturing strategy, global financial architecture, financing for growth strategy.
