Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today filed a charge sheet in the ACB court in the cash-for-bail case of mining baron and former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy. In the 40-page charge sheet, the agency named 50 people as witnesses in the case. Suspended CBI judge T Pattabhirama Rao and retired judge TV Chalapathi Rao are among eight accused figured in the charge sheet submitted to the ACB court by the agency. Among those who accused in the charge sheet are two legislators from Karnataka — Somasekhara Reddy, brother of Gali Janardhana Reddy and Suresh Babu (Kampli MLA) , and his relative Dasaradharami Reddy, Pattabhirama Rao’s son Ravichandra, rowdy sheeter Yadagiri Rao and advocate Aditya. All the eight accused named in the charge sheet have already been arrested by the agency and they are currently lodged in Cherlapally Jail here. They have been charged with bribing the judge to secure bail for Gali Janardhan Reddy, who was currently lodged in karnataka jail in the illegal mining case. Suspended Pattabhirama Rao had granted bail to Janardhana Reddy in illegal mining case for a huge bribe in May this year. The investigations by the ACB revealed that Janardhana Reddy’s relatives paid Rs 10 crore to the judge and the other accused. The accused have been charged under various sections of Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act. UNI
