AP 108 Services Improve Vastly Last Month

Andhra Pradesh 108 Emergency Response Services’ performance has been improved tremendously during the last month, according to Praveen Prakash, Commissioner of Health & F.W Dept.
The number of pregnant women transported during July increased to 23,899 from 21,747 in June. The number of post-natal women transported back to their homes is doubled. Number of post-natal women transported during July is 3027 as against 1539 in June. Average number of emergencies attended per day crossed 3,000 .The average reach time of ambulance from call to scene decreases considerably. The reach time in urban areas was 17.5 minutes, in the rural areas it was 24.1 minutes and in tribal areas 23.6 minutes. Currently, 715 ambulances were operating all over the State.
During last month, a total of 93,905 emergencies were attended by 108 ambulances out of which 89,861 (96%) were medical, 2787 (3%) police and 1257 (1%) fire emergencies. New ambulances will be inducted into the fleet from September in phases to improve their performance further.
