Anti-Ragging Campaign-meeting in Collectorate

(Siasat News)Mr. Murtuza Rizvi, Collector of Hyderabad District told that in addition to college managements, parents of the students should also concentrate on their children to eradicate the evil of ragging in universities and Colleges. He was addressing a district level meeting convened in his office yesterday. He deplored that the evil practice of ragging in Colleges is on the increase. He said that it is an inhuman activity and it is a crime. It has to be stopped. He told that if a ban is not imposed on this evil practice during the educational career of the students, it might affect the future of the children. The students may fall prey to mental tension and other problems due to ragging. In the past, many students lost their lives on account of ragging. He instructed the college officials to implement Govt. orders strictly. He asked them to display in their institutions the Govt. instructions on anti-ragging. They should also constitute an anti-ragging squad in their colleges. They should highlight the disadvantages of ragging.

Dy. Commissioner of Police (crimes) Mr. John Victor, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sultan Bazaar, Mr. Someswara Rao, Mr. Madan Mohan Rao, R.D.O., Mr. Harish and principals of degree and junior colleges attended the meeting.
