‘Anti-poor’ Nitish sitting in Congress’ lap: Naqvi

New Delhi : Taking a jibe at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over his assertion that all parties must join hands to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Sunday alleged that these people, who have presently sided with the Congress, are against the development of the nation and welfare of the weaker sections.

“One thing is clear these people are sitting in the lap of Congress despite being anti-Congress at one point in time. Now, they are chanting anti-BJP tune, so let us see in whose lap they would sit in future. They are not able to digest the fact that a person from backward community like Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working for the development of the nation,” Naqvi told ANI.

“So, they are not against BJP, they are against the poor and their empowerment. They will never succeed in this,” he added.

The JD (U) president had on Saturday urged all non-BJP parties to come together to defeat the BJP in the next Lok Sabha elections, adding that separate contests will not work.

Speaking at the Advantage Conclave 2016 in Patna, Nitish also trained guns at the BJP’s ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and their stand on recent debates on nationalism.

“It is unnecessarily engaging in debates on nationalism and slogans,” he said. (ANI)
