Anti-national elements trying to disrupt peace in J-K: BJP

New Delhi, Sept.13 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday condemned the clash, which broke out after pro-Pakistan slogans were raised in Srinagar, saying that it was an attempt by anti-national elements to disrupt peace in the valley.
“The police is taking action. We also have to bear in mind that Pakistan and such other elements will try to somehow disrupt peace. We all have to jointly combat this. The police will do its job,” BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli told ANI

“If the police was not doing its job, perhaps some political comment could have been made by someone. But this is not an occasion to politicize in any way. Whatever action has to be done, will be taken,” he added.

Earlier today, a clash broke out between the police and protestors after pro-Pakistan slogans were raised near the venue of the ‘Big Kashmir Marathon’ at Hazratbal in Srinagar.

The youth raised slogans in favour of freedom and pelted rocks on the forces guarding the venue in the varsity.

The police and paramilitary forces baton charged the youth when they pelted stones at them. (ANI)
