Hyderabad, August 02: Vice-President of India Mohammed Hamid Ansari was given a warm welcome at the Hyderabad airport on his arrival on a day’s visit to the city. Governor Narayan Datt Tiwari and Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy received him at the airport at about 12.25 pm. He was in the city till 4.30 pm before leaving to New Delhi by a special Indian Air Force aircraft.
Several dignitaries were introduced to the Vice-President at a specially erected shamiana in the airport premises. After receiving bouquets, Ansari left to Raj Bhavan for lunch. Later, he arrived at Jubilee Hall in public gardens to release a book titled “Muraqqa-echughtai’ at 3 p.m.
Legislative Council Chairman A Chakrapani, Ministers J Geeta Reddy, P Lakshmaiah, Ahmadullah, Council deputy chairman Mohd Jani, MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, Chief Secretary P Ramakanth Reddy, DGP SSP Yadav, MLAs, MLCs and members of AP Urdu academy were among those present at the airport.
