Another Tata Nano on fire, investigations are on

Mumbai, March 25: Tata Nano, The people’s car, an engineering marvel, the middle class’ dream though does not matter how you refer to it. The Tata Nano is in talks these days because of an unpleasant incident took place near Mumbai with this car.

New Tata Nano car was purchased by an insurance agent Mr. Satish Purushottam Sawant who is a Mulund resident of Mumbai city. He and his whole family still terrified with the March 21st incident in which everyone sitting in Nano car narrowly escaped from the clutches of death.

India’s Tata Motors is investigating the case of spontaneous combustion of small car Tata Nano, which was on fire after 45 minutes of its purchase, according to the newspaper Hindu Business Line.

The irony of whole incident is that Tata Motors are not sorry for what happened on that day, according to Mr. sawant ” Tata Motors has not apologized to us verbally or in writing. They [Tata], have insulted us,”

Sawant said. Tata Motors has offered to compensate the Sawants with a replacement or a refund of the entire amount paid for the burnt car, but the Sawants are not pleased.

“It must also be probed how and why Tata and Concorde gave delivery of a defective car. I want the entire incident to be investigated and criminal action taken against officials of Tata Motors and Concorde,” Sawant said.

On the other hand Tata motors says that “This is a unique case. We are trying to figure out what went wrong “- quoted Hindu Business Line according to a representative of Tata. This is the fourth Incident when a Tata Nano car burning case is observed in India.

The reason behind the previous three cases has been described as short-circuiting switch on the steering column.

The case in Mumbai to be investigated separately – Tata does not associate it with the incidents in Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Delhi.
