Hdyerabad, February 23: Accusing Chief Minister K Rosaiah and leader of the Opposition N Chandrababu of keeping the issue of separate Telangana on the backburner, a dejected Intermediate student committed suicide by hanging herself at Aziznagar in Moinabad mandal today.
Saritha, a second year CEC student of Sindhu Junior college in Mehdipatnam, was found hanging to the ceiling this afternoon at her residence.
Police said Saritha was depressed that Telangana was not turning into a reality despite the spate of suicides by students.
“From the time news channels aired news about the death of Yadaiah, Saritha was very disturbed. For the last two days, she was glued to the television. She did not go to the college today also,’’ Moinabad police said. Saritha’s father A Narasimhulu, a labourer left the house early in the morning along with his wife to attend to work. Saritha hanged herself when her parents were away.
In the suicide note left behind addressed to the Chief Minister and Chandrababu Naidu, Saritha criticised both the leaders for being insensitive to the spate of suicides in support of Telangana.
“Have Rosaiah and Chandrababu Naidu became dead and blind to realise the aspirations of people for a separate State? We want separate Telangana State at any cost,’’ she stated in the letter.
TDP MLA Ratnam was gheroed by the locals when he came to Sarita’s house on learning the news.
