Another road mishap in Nalgonda; Twelve die

Nalgonda, March 09: Nalgonda district seems to be in a jinx with another road mishap claiming heavy loss of twelve lives today.
According to eyewitnesses, an auto from Kusumanchi in Nelkondapally mandal, Khammam district collided with a lorry on the outskirts of Mothey mandal headquarters resulting in the instantaneous death of eight persons. Four others died in Suryapet Hospital.

Two more suffering serious injuries are receiving treatment in the same hospital.

The deceased were identified as G Veeraiah (45) and G Mallaiah (55), both natives of Rajeshwarapuram in Nelakondapally mandal, Khammam district, B Veera Gangulu (50), K Pushpamma (40), belonging to Pocharam village near Kusumanchi, auto driver P Purushottham (25), a native of Namaravam village in Mothey mandal, Nalgonda district, A. Guravamma (48) of Sirikonda in Mothey mandal, D Sunitha (20) belonging to Kotapadu village in Atmakur (S) mandal and one 48-year-old person who is yet to be identified.
Those who died in Suryapet Hospital included A Venkaiah (38) belonging to Mothey mandal headquarters, A Teja (4), A Nagamani (25) of Kusumanchi village in Khammam district, Shravani (2) of Chivvemla mandal in Nalgonda district.

Two others injured are also receiving treatment in Suryapet Hospital. Suryapeta RDO Manohar Guptha and MRO visited the place of mishap on Khammam-Suryapet highway. Mothey SI Pavankumar Reddy registered a case and launched an inquiry.

IT Minsiter Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Nalgonda MP Guttha Sukhender Reddy, District Collector S A M Rizvi, SP Rajesh Kumar and Kodad MLA Chander Rao too visited the place of tragedy.
The IT Minister said he would discuss about ex gratia to the bereaved families with the chief minister.
