You can send a complaint against eve-teasing, ragging, public nuisance by sending text messages, photos and videos through Whatsapp.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner C V Anand on Friday formally launched the WhatsApp telephone No. 9490617444.
Recently, the Traffic police issued orders that only traffic officers of the rank of sub-inspector and above are empowered to impose fines. The rank below SI can only click the vehicle’s photograph or detain it for any violation until an SI comes. Also, If you are charged falsely, accept the slip,.note the name and rank of the officer, forward a complaint with all the details to the Whatsapp number or to the traffic helpline no. 9010203626. The aggrieved citizens can complain, report, suggest and update by sending messages, Audio, video clippings, Images to 9490617444 relating to crime, women harassment, eve-teasing, Traffic, law and order and so on.
The innovative schemes of Cyberabad police are: “Fight back” application for IT Corridor Women Safety launched in December 2013 and one lakh applications were downloaded. ‘Cop Comm’ App – at Hackathon requires own server, Team to maintain Expensive ‘Traffic Buddy’, ‘Cab Registration’ etc other Apps used by Cyb. Police WhatsApp is a messaging App which can be downloaded from the internet free of cost.
WhatsApp can be used in any smart phones. The police can share messages, photos, audios and videos.They can make groups of up to 100 people or contacts – earlier it was 50. Every WhatsApp user should have a smart phone and every WhatsApp user should have internet connectivity. Every WhatsApp user should feed the Cyberabad WhatsApp control room phone No. 9490617444 which will be the Group Admin Number common to all Police Groups.
It is easy to send messages, photos, audios and videos related to the crime scene, criminals, suspects, Traffic violations/problems and other policing related matters by using WhatsApp. It is free of cost.

A financial burden is not much and will be met from the present sealing amount for each rank of officers by providing for internet connectivity.
