Another Palestinian teen shot dead by Israeli troops in just 24 hours

West Bank: A Palestinian boy has been shot dead during clashes with the Israeli military at a refugee camp, a Palestinian hospital official has said.

13-year-old Abdel Rahman Abdullah was shot bullet in the chest at Rachel’s Tomb in Bethlehem and immediately lost his life.

On Sunday, an 18-year-old Palestinian Hutheifa Suleiman was fatally shot in the northern West Bank town of Tulkarem.

The Palestine director for Defence for Children International, Ayed Abu Qtaish told Al Jazeera that Israeli soldiers had killed Palestinian children before and acted with impunity because they had been given a “green light” by superiors.

“They (Israeli army) want to suppress any action by Palestinians that resists Israeli policies, especially settlement expansion, and the building of the wall,” Qtaish said.

“Any protest by the Palestinians will be treated in a tough way…the latest Israeli policies on how to deal with protests gives a green light to Israeli soldiers to kill Palestinians, including children.”
