Hyderabad, August 07: Another TDP MLA Y Bala Nagi Reddy, representing the Mantralayam Assembly segment, raised the banner of revolt today, shooting off a joint letter with legislator Nallapu Reddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy to N Chandrababu Naidu urging him to step down as party chief.
They said he should quit, if he had “any respect’’ for party founder NTR and family. “Even ordinary workers are feeling that the TDP would never come back to power under your leadership,’’ the two MLAs told Naidu. “You may induce people who deserted the party to return to the party, but you are unable to win the confidence of the people,’’ Bala Nagi Reddy and Prasanna Kumar Reddy said. Though Naidu promised “everything under the sky’’, he failed to regain power, they maintained.
“The TDP will continue to flounder as long as you remain party president,’’ they said in the letter. In the trenchantly- worded missive, the MLAs alleged that Naidu was known for the politics of deception. “It was he who initiated politics of corruption, scandals and back-stabbing,’’ they said, and cited NT Rama Rao’s comments on Naidu in the past.
