Visakhapatnam has yet to recover from the trail of devastation left behind by Cyclone Hudhud, but the city may be in for more trouble.
As per reports, a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal has already turned into a depression and may further develop into a deep depression, before moving towards Visakhapatnam.
Reports quoted the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) as saying that the monsoon depression was located around 700 kilometres away from Visakhapatnam – near the same spot where Cyclone Hudhud formed.
A warning has already been issued by the Joint Typhoon Warning Centre at Pearl Harbour which states that the depression will eventually develop into a tropical cyclone due to the presence of favourable climatic conditions.
