It is shocking, that a 15-years-old girl was allegedly raped by a 19 years-old youth at near Revidi village under Padmanabham police station limits today.
According to police sources, the girl is a native of Lakshmipuram under Bheemili district zone went to her grandfather’s house at Venkatapuram of Padmanabham, a few days ago. While returning to her hometown this morning, P Gangaraju, a resident of her neighboring village, took her to a mango orchard and allegedly raped her.
Gangaraju had harassed her to marry him few months ago, after which he was given a warning by village elders,the police alleged .
The girl lodged a complaint after the incideent, and a case has been registered against the accused Gangaraju under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act , said Padmanabham’s police inspector A Srinivasa Rao .
While the accused allegedly run off soon after the crime, the victim was shifted to the King George Hospital at Visakhapatnam.
