Another blow to TDP; Suddala Devaiah to join TRS

Karimnagar, January 8: The Telugu Desam party, which was virtually split over the Telangana issue, will be receiving another shock as Choppadandi MLA, Mr Suddala Devaiah has reportedly decided to leave the party and join the TRS, closely following former minister, Mr Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.

According to reports, when Mr Srinivas Reddy announced his resignation and intention to join the TRS, Mr Suddala Devaiah and Jukkal (Nizamabad district) MLA, Mr Hanumanth Shinde also wanted to join the TRS. However, TDP leader, Dr Nagam Janardhana Reddy, called them up and tried to persuade them to remain in the party. He told them that they could remain in the TDP and still fight for Telangana. With the persuasion both have announced that they would not be leaving the TDP.

However, the TRS which was rather shocked at the two going back has reportedly sent Gajjela Kantham as a mediator to persuade both to join TRS. Kantham has been sitting with Devaiah since morning and has reportedly succeeded in persuading him to join the TRS. Sources say that Devaiah is likely to announce his decision to leave TDP in the next few days.
