Anny Divya, World’s youngest female pilot to fly Boeing 777 now a LinkedIn Influencer

Anny Divya, the world’s youngest woman commander to fly a Boeing 777 joined the exclusive league of global influencers on LinkedIn, the leading professional network.

She joined the greatly desired group of Indian and international leaders, who are part of the over 500 LinkedIn Influencer programme including Bill Gates, Priyanka Chopra, Narendra Modi, Sachin Tendulkar, Oprah Winfrey, and Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, among other famous personalities.

LinkedIn Influencers are selected by invitation only and comprise a global collective of 500+ of the world’s foremost thinkers, leaders, and innovators.

LinkedIn released a statement in which it stated that “Today as a LinkedIn Influencer she shares her story with LinkedIn’s 610+ million members across the world and 55+ million members in India on how she fought societal conventions, language barriers, and family pressure to succeed in a male-dominated profession.”

In her first post on LinkedIn, she shared how her support system helped her pursue her dream job and how determination and hard work have led her to success.

Her father served in the Indian Army. The family lived near the army base camp in Pathankot in the Indian state of Punjab. After her father retired, their family settled down in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, where she attended school.

After completing her schooling at age 17, she enrolled at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA), the flying school in Uttar Pradesh. At 19 she completed her training and started her career with Air India. She travelled to Spain for training and flew a Boeing 737. At age 21 she was sent to London for further training, where she started flying the Boeing 777.

In 2017, she made history after she became the youngest woman to command a Boeing 777.
