Anna warns of ‘Jail Bharo’ on Lokpal

Chennai, December 18: Appealing to the people to strive for wiping out corruption from the country, social activist Anna Hazare today reiterated its warning to the Centre that if the Jan Lokpal Bill was not passed in the current session of Parliament he will start a jail bharo agitation in January. Addressing the people of this metropolis as part of his nationwide tour for Lokpal Bill, he said the Centre should not delay the bill otherwise a jail bharo agitation will be held. We will gladly fill the jails and we will eat and sleep in the jail. It will be an honour to us, Hazare added. He appealed to the youths to make the jail bharo movement a success by filling all the jails and make sure that there was no space left in the prisons in the country.. Stating that the nation would progress only if there was all round progress and the villages were developed, Hazare said, I live for nation and I am prepared to die for the Nation. That is why I am fighting for a strong Lokpal. I am not afraid of death, he said and appealed to the people, especially the youth, to strive for wiping out corruption from the country. He said his movement and crusade against corruption had awakened the people s consciousness across the country and hoped the youth would fight towards eradicating corruption.
