Social avctivist Anna Hazare on Tuesday said that he will not attend Arvind Kejriwal’s swearing-in ceremony to be held at Ramlila Ground in Delhi, the venue of Hazare’s anti-corruption movement for a Janlokpal Bill.
Citing his health reasons, Anna said that he is unwell and will not be able to attend his ex-team mate’s swearing-in ceremony.
Anna on Monday had declined to comment on Kejriwal-led Aam Aaadmi Party’s decision to form the new government in Delhi, but added he would express his views when his former protege acts on the Lokayukta issue.
“Mein bolta hoon, Kejriwal par no comment. Koi baat nahi karna hai,” Hazare said.
Asked about Kejriwal’s party accepting outside support of Congress, Hazare said, “Whatever is good, let him do it… He will do whatever is right.” On whether Kejriwal’s move was ethical, Hazare shot back, saying “I don’t want to speak… Abhi pata nahi na, woh kya karnelwale hai (I don’t know what they are going to do).”
After he takes oath of office, Kejriwal will be the youngest Chief Minister of Delhi at 45 years of age, while his predecessor Dikshit will take the crown of India’s longest serving woman chief minister so far.
